Product Description
Own this pair of F1 gloves which have been worn and signed by an F1 driver that has lead over 700 laps: safety car driver Bernd Mayländer.
The German former racing driver started driving the Safety Car driver all the way back in 2000, as he put his own racing career on hold for F1. Bernd Mayländer has been the safety car driver at every-single race since the 2000 Australian GP, bar three which he missed due to illness and injury.
The role of Safety Car driver is incredibly complex and requires a lot more skill than you may think.
Mayländer has to drive a 720bhp modified supercar at full tilt - whilst not just remaining in full control but also being in full control of 19 F1 cars in a queue behind him.
It is his responsibility to make sure that the other cars are kept safe - and avoid debris at all cost.
These are the very racing gloves that Bernd used whilst driving the Safety Car during a Grand Prix, and they have now been signed by the German - to make them a particularly interesting and unique piece of Formula 1 memorabilia.
* Signed by safety car driver, Bernd Mayländer
